Taiwan -- Day 6 > Danshui 20-Nov-2013

Today itinerary was not supposed to be just Danshui! But upon arriving there, somehow we lost track of time and spend almost the whole day there!

Early morning, before we return our rental car we drove to Xia Hai City God Temple. Nearest carpark we can find there was at the Dadaocheng Harbour, which is 5mins walk away. What I can say about this harbour is that it gives a very calm feeling. Its quite deserted with occasionally some locals strolling along the harbour. But it was formerly the busiest commercial district in Taipei!

Cute van that bears the same color theme as Veron. Sweet!

Came across an old man strolling with his companion.

Caught a stork's graceful poise.

Jump Shot!

After returning our car, we took the MRT to Damshui. Here, we ate and ate and ate! Haha. We end the day with Veron & Ben having their portrait drawn by a artist from Hong Kong.

Upon arriving in Damshui, I got them to try this fried chicken, it really is
one of the BEST you can find in Taipei.

Cute dancing toys on the streets.

Posing for commercial shot.

Mochi from a roadside stall.

Then we saw a shop selling this mochi, and no regrets, it really
is very yummy. The texture is smooth as silk.

Deep fried shrimp rolls. MUST TRY!

Ma-La Lok Lok from the reliable 7-11!

Potato King from Shihlin Night Market is a MUST TRY!

Look at how generous they are with the nacho cheese gravy!

Taiwan -- Day 5 > Puli -> Yehliu -> Keelung 19-Nov-2013

Day 5, and we decide to pamper ourselves by sleeping in a little bit more, as we have a long drive today. By 10am we had check-out from the guesthouse and to spend some time exploring Puli Town before moving up to Taipei.  We had wanted to try this restaurant named, 喷水餐厅, last night for dinner, but it was already closed for the day when we found it. But they have a must-try dish for me so today we decide to drop by again, for lunch!  Lucky day for us! It was open and we were the 1st customer, thus there's no long waiting time for us. We find this shop very humble, there wasn't any pictures of newspaper clippings displayed in their shop. There were only certificates of their chefs who received recognition as top renowned chefs in Taiwan. Only upon chatting with the friendly staffs do we know that they have a few TV stations coming to film their shops during the next few days. And if we were to drop by a few days later, we might not be able to taste their food, as they w...

Taiwan -- Day 4 > Cing Jing -> Puli 18-Nov-2013

We start today's itinerary at 4am today. By 3am we were up and getting ready to meet the tour group at 4am. Outside temperature was below 10 degree at that time and was freezing cold! What a relief that we have our own transport to the meeting point, if not we need to walk all the way out in the freezing and at that time there's no public transport operating yet. Our sleepy faces with hot drinks in hand to warm ourselves up.  Enlarge the pic and you will be able to see the stars in the sky! Waiting for the sun to rise and peek into a new day! The weather was so cold that we stayed in the bus most of the time. We only got down when it was almost time for the sun to rise.  Overall, 4 of us feel that the tour was worth the effort for waking up so early and bracing the cold weather without the appropriate wear. The view we had of the stars and the moment when the sun peek out from the horizon, the feeling was priceless. Its like you feel hope, warmth ...

Taiwan -- Day 1 > Kaohsiung 15-Nov-2013

Woke up early for check-in and breakfast at Changi Airport Terminal 2 for our Taiwan trip. This long anticipated trip kept us energised even at this early hour, so we couldn't help cam-whoring! Good start to our trip, as the check-in staff of Tiger Air actually assigned us emergency exit seats. Which means more leg room! Hence, a comfortable 4.5hr flight to Taiwan. :) Filled our stomach with a hearty breakfast at Wang Jiao. Splendid view from our seats in the plane Upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport , we took U-Bus 705 to Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station (HSR), and then took the HSR all the way to Kaohsiung ZuoYing Station, which took about 90mins. From ZuoYing HSR Station, we then shared a cab to our hotel, Legend Kaohsiung. Tickets for the shuttle bus to Taoyuan HSR Station Group shoot while waiting for the bus Comfy bus ride. All passengers had to be seated. Once all the seats are taken up, the remain...
